Inviting CEO Hoorang Shin of INUC Co., Ltd. to Share Entrepreneurship and Startup Experiences in the AI Era
[Veritas Alpha = Reporter Hayeon Kim] Jeju National University hosted the “4th Green Hydrogen Glocal CEO Special Lecture” on June 5 at the auditorium of Engineering Building 1, inviting CEO Hoorang Shin of INUC Co., Ltd..
The lecture was jointly organized by the Green Hydrogen Glocal Leading Research Center, Jeju National University (RLRC, Director Sangjae Kim), the BK21 Jeju Energy New Industry Education and Research Group (Director Youngsun Mok), and the Research Institute for New Energy Industry, Jeju National University (RINEI, Director Sangjae Kim). Faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students, and industry representatives attended the event to discuss industrial transformation driven by AI technologies and the importance of entrepreneurship.
Under the theme “Why Entrepreneurship in the AI Era?”, CEO Shin explained the competencies and entrepreneurial mindset required for future talent in an environment where rapid advances in artificial intelligence are transforming industries and workplaces. He emphasized that in an era where AI technologies are becoming ubiquitous, the ability to identify real-world social and industrial problems and solve them through creative thinking and execution will become more important than coding skills alone.
Using examples from Jeju’s tourism, healthcare, and education sectors, he illustrated how discovering new services and business opportunities from local challenges lies at the heart of entrepreneurship.
During the lecture, CEO Shin introduced the growth stories of leading Korean startups such as Yanolja, Woowa Brothers, and Toss, highlighting the importance of perseverance, learning from failure, and continuous execution throughout the entrepreneurial journey. He also stressed that entrepreneurship is not limited to a specific profession but is an essential mindset for anyone who seeks to identify problems, take risks, and create new value.

The company has developed a wide range of digital services and platforms for organizations including the National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST), Seoul National University Hospital, the National Assembly, local councils, and various public institutions. Recently, the company has expanded its business portfolio into AI-based services and digital healthcare platforms.
During the Q&A session following the lecture, participants engaged in active discussions on career planning in the AI era, startup preparation, and growth strategies for technology-based startups. Attendees exchanged perspectives on the impact of AI-driven technological advancements and the competencies required in future industrial environments.
Professor Youngchul Byun of the Department of Computer Engineering at Jeju National University, who organized the event, remarked, “As AI technologies continue to advance rapidly, it is important to understand that entrepreneurship—the ability to create new value through technology—is just as critical as the technology itself. I hope this lecture provides students and researchers with valuable insights into future industrial changes and inspires them to embrace new challenges.”
