Jeju National University announced that five researchers from the Green Hydrogen Glocal Leading Research Center (RLRC) were selected for the World’s Top 2% Scientists, published annually by Elsevier and Stanford University’s Prof. John P. A. Ioannidis.
Among eight RLRC faculty members, Prof. Sang-Jae Kim, Prof. Young-Sun Mok, Prof. Youngcheol Byun, Prof. Dohyun Kim, and Prof. Jinho Bae were listed, demonstrating the Center’s strong global research competitiveness in green hydrogen technologies.
Notably, Prof. Young-Sun Mok has been selected for six consecutive years (2020–2025), and both Prof. Sang-Jae Kim and Prof. Dohyun Kim have been recognized three or more times, highlighting sustained academic impact. The Top 2% list is determined using Scopus data based on citation metrics and research influence over full career and recent-year performance.
The selected researchers are actively engaged in interdisciplinary fields including mechanical systems, chemical engineering, computer engineering, and ocean system engineering, publishing eight papers in IF 20+ international journals in the past year.
RLRC continues to lead global collaboration networks. Recent achievements include multilateral MOUs with Tsinghua University, Caelum Australia, Ajou University, and Parity Cryo Technologies, and an international cooperation MOU with the UQ Cyber Research Centre (Australia) in October.
Center Director Prof. Sang-Jae Kim stated that this recognition reflects the Center’s commitment to global collaboration and innovation, adding that RLRC will continue its efforts toward establishing “Green Hydrogen Hub Jeju.”
